Choosing the frame after buying your poster can be a real headache.
To make it easier for you, all of our Kelp Illustrations posters are available already framed.
We have chosen an oak wood frame produced in Europe in an eco-responsible way with an unbreakable acrylic glass which also limits reflections. On the back, you will find a horizontal metal hook to display your frame wherever you want.
If you want to find your frame yourself, here are some tips.
Choose the right frame
The choice of frame mainly depends on where your poster will be hung. We recommend that you choose a natural wood frame to make the poster stand out. A white frame may look a little dull.
Use non-reflective glass
If the poster is hung in a place where there is a lot of light, it is better to use non-reflecting glass. This will prevent glare on the poster and allow it to be seen clearly. We recommend that you buy a frame with acrylic glass (plastic) or plexiglass, which is much stronger and less fragile than mineral glass.
Choose the right size
Two possible options:
- A frame of the same size as the poster in 40 x 60 cm.
The indicated dimensions of the frame you buy correspond to the dimensions of the glass, so the thickness of the wood or aluminum border does not matter.
- A 50 x 70 cm frame with a passe-partout.
The passe-partout is a piece of cardboard cut to frame the poster and create a space between the poster and the glass of the frame. This gives a more professional look to the poster and also helps protect the poster from the glass.
A 50 x 70 frame with a mat is also perfect for a 40 x 60 cm poster if the inside of the mat is 40 x 60 cm. This type of framing will also give volume to your poster which will be better highlighted.
